Zenith National HSE Manager

This role is a Permanent full-time position based our client’s office north of the river.

The role is also responsible for overseeing and assigning HSE resources to projects based on operational needs.

Other key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

· Responsible for driving a positive HSES culture across the business

· Responsible for ensuring that all health, safety, environmental and sustainability legislative and regulatory obligations are met

· Acts as the responsible owner for the HSES policies and procedures, ensuring they remain current and relevant

· Responsible for maintaining third party accreditation for ISO 14001 & AS 4801

· Responsible for maintaining OFSC accreditation

· Ensures that all projects are delivered in accordance with our HSES systems through effective planning, reporting and audits

· Ensures workplace incidents are thoroughly investigated and reporting

· Leads investigations into major incidents or near misses

· Ensures that non-compliances are easily identifiable, reported, actioned, and learned from

· Supports operational leaders when required in addressing clients’ HSES requirements

· Supports employees and contractors in the event of an incident, providing guidance and engagement in relation to return to work activities and the Workers Compensation process

As the HSE Manager, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability (HSES) management systems to meet our legislative, regulatory, accreditation, client and stakeholder requirements.

· Coordinate HSES related initiatives and programs across the business

· Reviews project performance to identify trends and issues, and provide appropriate positive intervention

· Provides advice and support in adapting the HSES systems to meet specific or bespoke client requirements

· Identifies opportunities to continuously improve the HSES systems by striving for simplicity and consistency and leveraging suitable technology

· Effectively engages with Project Delivery teams to ensure compliance with HSES systems and to provide support where required

· Interacts with third parties such as regulatory bodies, third party accreditors, subcontractors and suppliers in a respectful and professional manner

· Leads a Zero Harm culture throughout the organisation & Identifies and addresses behaviours that do not support this

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

· Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety/Environmental science/engineering or similar

· Min 10 years project support or operational project delivery experience

· Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & AS 4801 desirable

· ICAM or other Root Cause Investigation Analysis qualification desirable

· Ability and preparedness to work at a strategic level, as well as understanding day to day operations and service delivery

· Knowledge and experience in compliance and systems auditing in accordance with current legislation, regulations, codes and relevant Australian Standards

· Able to interpret, implement and improve established processes and procedures

· High degree of knowledge in the requirements of ISO 9001, 14001 & AS 4801 and other applicable Australian Standards

· Able to interpret and implement established company policies, processes and procedures

· Ability to interpret, implement and improve established engineering processes and procedures

· Proficiency with MS Office

· Thorough understanding of established HSES systems and principles

· Experience in identifying, developing and implementing change management initiatives

· Knowledge of support systems including Power BI, SharePoint and other systems and tools used as part of the Business Management System desirable
