Mining Mining Geotechnical Engineer – Underground

We are currently seeking experienced Mining Geotechnical Engineers with a strong background in underground mining for various open positions across Western Australia. As a Mining Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and stability of underground mining operations. You will be responsible for conducting geotechnical assessments, designing support systems, and providing technical guidance to ensure the integrity of underground structures.

As a Mining Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible to:

• Conduct geotechnical assessments to identify potential hazards and risks in underground mining operations.
• Design and implement ground support systems to ensure the stability of underground structures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide technical advice on geotechnical issues.
• Monitor and analyze data related to ground conditions, slope stability, and rock mechanics.
• Develop and implement geotechnical management plans to mitigate risks and optimize operational efficiency.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to site personnel on geotechnical matters.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing geotechnical findings and recommendations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in underground mining geotechnical engineering.
• Strong knowledge of rock mechanics, ground control principles, and geotechnical analysis.
• Proficient in using geotechnical software and tools (e.g., FLAC, Rocscience, Surpac, Deswik).
• Sound understanding of relevant Australian mining regulations and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work in remote and challenging environments.
