Zenith HSE Superintendent

Zenith Search is proud to be partnering with an Australian based Gold producer to secure their next HSE Superintendent.

The company operates within two distinct project areas within Western Australia, an operational project in the Pilbara region; and a development project located in the Mid-West region.

This role wil work on a 2/1 roster flying from Perth directly to site – DIDO is also available for regional candidates.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and continually improve the company’s Mine Safety Management System including training, emergency response and crisis management systems.
  • Provide direct functional leadership, performance management and development of Health, Safety, Medic and Emergency Response team members.
  • Plan and participate in company audits and inspections.
  • Advise on WHS matters on a proactive basis following meetings and discussions.
  • Prepare data and report on safety performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate incident investigations to ICAM level.
  • Identifying safety and general training needs and providing appropriate solutions.
  • Plan, organise and undertake OHS, Mine Rescue and general training as required.
  • Prepare and conduct toolbox and safety committee meetings.
  • Utilisation and maintenance of databases and spreadsheets as required.
  • Support the companies Injury Management program.

YOUR REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years’ mining WHS experience and at least 1 year in a similar role. Operational experience in mineral processing or fixed plant maintenance highly regarded.
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Health & Safety (minimum Diploma).
  • ICAM (or similar) lead Investigator (Essential).
  • Certificate III – Mine Emergency Response Rescue (Essential).
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Essential).
  • Certificate IV Health Care or Diploma of Paramedical Science (Desirable).
  • Auditing qualifications (Essential).
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing (Desirable).
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite and WHS databases.
  • Strong proactive communicator with individuals and teams.
  • Substantial understanding and working knowledge of Western Australian WHS legislation and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding and capability in hazard identification and risk assessment including ALARP principles.
